Peter Amos graduated from the West of England College of Art
and his graphic work was soon attracting the attention of major companies.
Concurrently, and while still in his twenties, he was elected to
The Royal West of England Academy – "the youngest person in living memory"

At the New English Art Club he went on to win the Kleinwort Benson Prize
awarded by the London Art Critics Group,  and the Watercolour Award
at the Royal West of England Academy;
both are featured in the gallery - No’s 121 and 177.
He also exhibits with Sussex Watercolour Society,
The Society of Sussex Painters, Sussex Scribes
and South London Lettering Association.

In graphics his clients included: Teacher’s Whisky, Samuel Heath brassware,
British-American Tobacco, Schwartz Spices, Bees Seeds, Lyons Tetley,
Twinings Teas, Bing & Grondhal Copenhagen Porcelain,
McMullan & Co brewers, ICI, Unilever, Kimberly Clark.
His graphic work has been recognised with
awards in the UK, Europe and the USA* Reflecting that former career
he remains a Fellow of the Chartered Society of Designers.

Avoiding cold exactitude, it is the melding of these two disciplines-
watercolour painting and graphic design  and where creative lettering
is invariably pivotal to the design, that now bring to his calligraphy
a special authority and recognisable style.

Such work is now his preoccupation and daily endeavour.
